Archived data can always be accessed by end-users via a stub (redirect URL) on its “old” SharePoint location. It can be searched for via native SharePoint search, viewed, and, if any modifications are necessary, restored to its original location. Leveraging the Remote BLOB Storage API, the storage outside the SQL server is practically transparent to the end-user. No special skills or end-user permission to the DocAve Archiver is required, because it operates within the active SharePoint environment.

DocAve Extension Archiver features:

  • DocAve Extension Archiver supports independent or mixed SharePoint environments for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007, Windows SharePoint Services v.2.0 / v.3.0 and SharePoint Portal Server 2003.
  • Out-of-the-box Web Part provides archive data browse, search, and restore capabilities, providing end users with a familiar interface to retrieve archived documents.
  • Archive anything from entire top-level sites to specific documents or document versions.
  • Preview SharePoint objects covered by archiving rules, and perform test runs before executing an archive process.
  • Archive SharePoint content to the local or network drive or to anything that resembles a file system; does not require storage to expensive SQL space.
  • When an item is archived, a stub remains in SharePoint, allowing the content to be indexed and searched by end-users.
  • End-users can view archived items without having to un-archive the item back to the production environment.
  • Flexible permissions allows administrators to prevent end-users from restoring data. To modify an item, it must be un-archived. Permission limits each end-user to un-archive only their items (they can contact an administrator to un-archive for them).
  • A centralized browser-based interface (integrated with Active Directory) across all SharePoint environments allows Archiver management.
  • Full-fidelity item-level restore (un-archive), with full text keyword and identification criteria mask search.
  • Archives and restores all lists, libraries and items, including Events, Links, Tasks, Contacts, Announcements, Discussion Boards, Surveys, Issues, Custom Lists, Areas, Sub Areas, Portal Links, Layout Templates, and Security Meta Data.
  • Fast, 60GB per hour per plan archiving restores data directly to the live environment without the need to restore to a transitory media first.

Pricing – DocAve Extension Archiver

DocAve Extension Archiver has a fully distributed software architecture and can support an unlimited number of SharePoint farms. DocAve requires an appropriate Agent to be installed on servers in your SharePoint environment.

  • For MOSS 2007 or WSS v3: Extension Archiver Agent – £1,595 (per front-end Web server)
  • For SPS 2003 or WSS v2: Extension Archiver Agent – £895 (per front-end Web server)

The DocAve software is sold as a perpetual license with an optional annual maintenance renewal contract (details below). Please contact us for more information and a customized sales proposal.

Maintenance Packages and Support

The DocAve software licenses include 60 days of software maintenance and technical support. Additional maintenance packages can be purchased for a percentage of the software license cost:
